Compare Malaysian dental clinics for crown teeth by location, services, reviews and contact details, then arrange a consultation with a registered dentist.
Published Updated 6 min read
The short version
- Search this directory by state or area, then open clinic profiles and check whether crowns are among the listed services.
- A crown is a restoration fitted over a tooth a dentist has prepared. A registered dentist has to examine you before one is recommended.
- A crown on a tooth you still have, a filling, and replacement of a missing tooth are different plans. Compare them only after an examination.
- Confirm the dentist, the appointment, and what the fee includes with the clinic. A listing cannot reserve a visit or diagnose a tooth.
This page is general information, not medical advice — consult a registered practitioner.
Crown teeth is a common way to search for a dental crown: a restoration made to fit over a tooth. Finding one in Malaysia starts with a clinic you can reach, a profile that lists the service, and a phone call. Location on its own is not enough. This page is general information about how to compare listings and what a crown is. It is not a diagnosis, and it does not say that you need a crown.
Dental Clinics Malaysia lists clinics and dentists. Open the live profile, then confirm the service, the appointment, and the fee with the clinic. Information on a listing can change.
What a dental crown is
The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust describes a crown as a dental restoration that helps the appearance, strength, and function of a tooth. It fits over a tooth that a dentist has reshaped. The same patient page says a crown can rebuild a tooth that has been badly broken, or weakened by decay or a large filling, and that the dentist is the person who can say whether a crown is suitable. Read the Leeds crowns explanation for that background. It is general information from an NHS hospital, not a treatment plan for a patient in Malaysia.
Materials differ. Leeds lists porcelain with a metal lining, metal alloys, and all-ceramic porcelain, and says the dentist advises which option fits because some designs remove more tooth structure than others. The choice depends on the examination, including where the tooth sits and how it meets the other teeth.
Malaysia’s Oral Health Programme lists crown and bridge work among restorative dentistry services, alongside fillings, root canal treatment, dentures, and dental implants. That list describes services the programme names. It does not say which one a particular tooth needs. See Restorative dentistry. A registered dentist has to assess the tooth before recommending a crown, a filling, or another option.
How a crown differs from a filling or an implant
A filling and a crown are both ways to restore a damaged tooth, and they are not the same restoration. Leeds describes a crown as a cover for a tooth that has been weakened by a large filling or decay. Whether a filling is enough, or a crown is being discussed because so much of the tooth is already gone, is a question for the dentist who can see it.
Replacing a missing tooth is a different question from covering a tooth you still have. Dental implants on this directory are listed as their own service. MouthHealthy, from the American Dental Association, also says a crown can be used to cover a dental implant, and to cover a tooth that is discoloured or badly shaped, protect a weak tooth, or restore a broken one. Those are examples of why a dentist might discuss a crown, not a menu you can choose from a search result. The implant and restorative care guide sets out how to compare a written plan for a missing tooth with a plan that repairs a tooth.
Clinics that list crowns, bridges, and dentures appear under Prosthodontics. Clinics that list checkups, cleaning, and fillings appear under General Dentistry. A cosmetic concern can be part of the conversation, and Veneers is a separate service. A profile that lists one of these services is a place to ask. It is not confirmation that every dentist at that clinic offers every procedure, or that the procedure suits you.
If a tooth has already been removed, a dentist can still examine the area and talk about what the next step could be. Contact the clinic to ask whether that consultation is something they offer, and what they want you to bring. This page cannot tell you whether the space should be left, filled with a bridge or denture, or planned for an implant.
Compare clinics for crown treatment
Start with a place you can return to. Follow-up visits, travel, and opening hours can all affect which clinic is practical. Search Kuala Lumpur and Selangor separately if you are in the Klang Valley. Patients in Penang and Johor can use the same state-and-area approach. Someone in Johor Bahru can start from Johor Bahru, open several profiles, and write down the same fields for each. Someone in Kota Kinabalu or Kuching should use Kota Kinabalu or Kuching rather than assume a Kuala Lumpur clinic is the practical choice. Browse lists the states and areas.
Do not assume a clinic offers crowns because a nearby clinic does. Read the services on that profile, or ask the clinic.
| Check | What to record |
|---|---|
| Location | State, area, street address, and whether you can return for a later visit |
| Service | Whether crowns, bridges, or prosthodontics appear on the live profile |
| Access | Opening hours, phone number, and how the clinic asks you to book |
| Dentist and reviews | The dentist name on the profile, and what recent reviews actually describe |
Reviews can describe waiting, explanations, and how the desk handles appointments. They do not prove a treatment result. 5 Dental Clinic Rating Details Worth Checking Before You Call is the longer note on how to read them.
What to ask before you book
Choosing a clinic before you know it handles the service is a common mismatch. Use the same questions at each clinic.
- Service. Does this clinic offer a consultation about a crown, and is that what the profile’s service list refers to?
- Practical details. Does the address, the hours, and the contact route work for the trip you will actually make?
- Reviews. Do the comments describe communication and appointments, or only a star score?
- Before you attend. Who will see you, what records to bring, whether they assess a space after an extraction, and what the written fee covers?
| Before booking | What to do |
|---|---|
| Crowns are listed | Ask the clinic to confirm a crown consultation is available |
| Reviews are on the profile | Use them as context, not as a guarantee of a result |
| The fee is unclear | Ask what the quoted fee includes before you agree to treatment |
The Oral Health Programme describes the Malaysian Dental Council as registering dental practitioners and maintaining the Malaysian Dental Register. How to check a name against that register, what not to send through an unverified form, and how to ask what a starting price includes are set out in The Complete Guide to Finding and Comparing a Dental Clinic.
If you want a dentist’s own page rather than only the clinic, use Dentists. Call the phone number shown on the live profile. Have a short reason ready: a broken or heavily filled tooth, a tooth that has been removed, or a question about an implant. The clinic explains its appointment process. Only the registered dentist who examines you can recommend a treatment.
When a directory search is not enough
Contact a dental clinic directly, rather than spending longer on listings, if you have urgent symptoms, a recent injury, severe pain, swelling, or a problem after an extraction. A directory cannot assess an emergency.
For severe swelling, uncontrolled bleeding, trauma, or trouble breathing or swallowing, go to a hospital emergency department or call 999. That is the same step this site uses for urgent visits. A later crown appointment does not replace it.

Common questions
How do I find a clinic that lists crowns?
Open Browse and choose a state or area you can travel to, such as Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, or Johor. On each profile, check the services, address, hours, reviews, and phone number. Then ask the clinic whether a crown consultation is available.
Can a directory tell me if I need a crown?
No. Leeds Teaching Hospitals describes a crown as a restoration fitted over a tooth a dentist has prepared, and says the dentist advises whether a crown is suitable. A clinic listing helps you arrange that examination. It does not examine the tooth.
Is a crown the same as an implant or a filling?
No. A crown can rebuild a weakened tooth. A filling repairs a tooth in a different way. An implant is a way to replace a missing tooth, and a crown may later be fitted on an implant. MouthHealthy notes that use. Only the dentist who examines you can say which plan applies.
What should I ask before I book?
Ask whether crown treatment is offered, who the dentist will be, what to bring, and what the written estimate includes. Use The Complete Guide to Finding and Comparing a Dental Clinic for how to check registration and a quoted fee.
